WHO WE ARE

Welcome to the official website of Bethel Park Republican Committee. From this point forward, our policy may refer to the Bethel Park Republican Committee as “[the/our] organization,” “[the] BPRC,” or “[the] BPGOP.” Our organization currently owns the rights to and maintains the bpgop.org domain as its primary web address. The organization owns and maintains a number of similar domain variations on this address as well, and may redirect traffic from these addresses to our main website. While our officially-recognized web address will remain bpgop.org for the foreseeable future, we do hereby reserve the right to change this address at any time without notice to users and customers. All associated subdomains such as shop.bpgop.org are included beneath our officially-recognized site naming umbrella.

The operation of this website is supervised by Committee Chairwoman Rachael Armstrong of Bethel Park Pennsylvania. To contact Rachael directly, you can visit this website’s contact us web page.

WHAT PERSONAL DATA DO WE COLLECT AND WHY DO WE COLLECT IT?

NON-PERSONALLY-IDENTIFYING DATA

This site may collect some non-personally-identifying information which is typically made available at the client side by browsers and web servers such as the browser type, user language preference, referring site, and timestamp data for user requests. Generally speaking, our purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how visitors and potential customers make use of our web site and associated services. The BPRC reserves the right to publicly release non-personally-identifying information in aggregate, for example, by publishing a report on trends in the usage of this site or its associated subdomains and services.

PERSONALLY-IDENTIFYING DATA

Our organization may also collect personally-identifying information such as Location Data and Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. We do not use Location Data or IP addresses to identify visitors in ways unrelated to the functionality of our services or in cases or outside those described below.

Further, certain visitors may choose to interact with our site in ways that require our site to gather and store personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that our site gathers depends on the nature of said interaction(s). For example, when signing up for an account on our site, we request that users provide their name, create a username and password, and provide us with a valid email address.

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for various purposes such as:

  • Sending you information about your account and communications

  • Responding to your requests, including complaints

  • Processing payments and donations

  • Setting up your account with our site

  • Complying with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes

  • Improving our committee outreach

  • Sending you updates, notifications and other relevant messages, should you choose to receive them

If you create an account, we must store your name, address, email and phone number as part of our shopping service. This data can be used to populate checkout fields in future orders.

BPRC collects personally-identifying information only if doing so is necessary to or appropriate in the fulfilling of said user’s interaction with our website. The organization does not disclose personally-identifying information to third parties other than as described below. Visitors may refuse to supply personally-identifying information, but do so at the risk that their user experience may be limited as a result.

WHO CAN SEE MY PERSONAL DATA?

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. Members of our team have access to this information in order to to help carry out effective campaigns and provide users with support. For example, site administrators will be able to access:

  • Communication data such as the content of messages sent to us through our contact us page

  • User information such as names, email addresses, and addresses

Additionally, our site may provide relevant third parties access to certain personal information insofar as it is required for legitimate functional purposes. For example, personally-identifying information may be disclosed by our site as part of analytics or a web store checkout process. We do our best to ensure that the third parties who may have access to our users’ personal data are both reputable and secure in their handling of said data, but we cannot reasonably assume responsibility for the safekeeping of this data once it has left a user’s computer.

ANALYTICS

Because of the potential diversity of our users’ browsing preferences, the BPRC may make use of several third party toolkits for examining traffic patterns and browsing habits on our website. Among these toolkits are services such as Bing Webmaster Tools and Google Analytics. These third party services are used in conjunction with internal monitoring features such as those provided by our publishing software.

The above mentioned third party services provide traffic analysis by recording user data and manipulating it outside of our web servers. BPRC cannot testify to the safe handling of any data which leaves the site for processing by these analytics services. For more information, you may wish to refer to the relevant privacy policies for our analytics services.

WHO DO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH?

Our organization will also share personally-identifying user information in order to comply with local, state, or federal law.

HOW LONG DO WE RETAIN YOUR DATA?

We store information about our users for as long as we need said information to ensure the user experience is not interrupted and that our duties as a political committee may be fulfilled. The BPRC is not legally required to store or maintain this data for any period of time, and is conversely not required to delete anonymous records of site usage from its databases, even upon the request of a site user to delete his or her account.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personally-identifiable data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

WHERE DO WE SEND YOUR DATA?

CONTACT INFORMATION

For all concerns involving privacy, you may send an email to info@bpgop.org or call us at (443) 695-1840. This website is maintained and operated in part by a non-affiliate of the BPRC.

HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR DATA?

The security of your personal information is extremely important to us. When you visit https://bpgop.org or any of its affiliated subdomains, you are being protected by a technology called SSL. SSL uses encryption to secure user data as it is transported to and from our servers.

Our site is designed such that requests cannot be processed without SSL encryption protection. Users who actively attempt to avoid this feature do so at their own risk.

BPRC also makes use of a firewall-equipped Content Delivery Network, or CDN. A CDN works by storing copies of our website of servers throughout the world and processing requests to our site first as requests to these servers, which monitor for malicious software, cross-site requests, and other unsafe activity. Users who engage in activity that our CDN provider deems to be suspicious may be blocked from using our website until we can determine the legitimacy of their requests.

WHAT DATA BREACH PROCEDURES DO WE HAVE IN PLACE?

In the event of a data breach, the BPRC will attempt to notify all potentially affected by whichever means are available. Users may receive emails, calls, or mail from the organization warning them of the breach and its potential ramifications, and will further suggest a number of options to assist in mitigating the effects of said breach.

It is important for users to protect themselves against social engineering scams such as phishing attacks. A phishing attack occurs when a cyber criminal impersonates an individual or organization in an effort to make unsuspecting victims disclose personally identifying or sensitive information.

Data breach notifications from our organization will never ask users to disclose information such as usernames, passwords or other sensitive information. The BPRC also will not redirect you to any username or password reset web pages by way of electronic message unless you have specifically requested such a service from our official website. If you have been the recipient of any suspicious email claiming that a data breach has occurred within our service, notify us at once.

WHAT THIRD PARTIES DO WE RECEIVE DATA FROM?

At present, our organization does not receive data about users from third parties. We reserve the right to change this at any time without notifying users. However, changes to this policy will be reflected immediately within his policy.

WHAT AUTOMATED DECISION-MAKING AND/OR PROFILING DO WE CARRY OUT WITH USER DATA?

At present, our organization does not utilize any automated decision-making or profiling service to adjust the user experience. We reserve the right to change this at any time without notifying users or customers. However, changes to this policy will be reflected immediately within his document.

CHANGES TO OUR POLICIES

The BPRC reserves the right to modify this privacy policy at any time without notice, unless notice of changes to this policy are required by applicable law. If you do not agree to the changes we have made, please refrain from using this website. Your use of this site after the effective date of any such change constitutes your acceptance of the applicable changes.
